@damianreloaded As an atheist I often get the "why do you only pick on Christianity?" At best this is a bad attempt to distract the discussion and at worse a persecution complex does get a response from me.
I really don't consider any religion truly benign some are most assuredly more dangerous than others. We are not talking about the return of the Dark Ages or are we. "Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it." 1/
@damianreloaded LOL Fanaticism, preaching? No, you see I nave no need to recruit. I do have a need to stop Christianity from taking over my country.
If a religion wants to create rules to its own adherents and those adherents can walk away it sucks but they have the option.
When a supposed secular nation allows religions to influence and create laws in its favour, then ALL theists that don't want that, nontheists and atheists need to speak up. Too be silent is to condone.
When a company is profitable, but the profit margin is considered βnot high enoughβ, so employees are laid off or given reduced hours (or as seems to be common practice, benefited, experienced employees are laid off, then replaced with part-time employees at a lower wage and no benefits) so that the stock dividends can stay high and executives get hefty bonuses (because profits are high), how is that a moral failing, or even bad luck, on the part of the worker?

@damianreloaded Weirdest statement I've heard in awhile seeing as atheism has no tenets nor dogma, seeing as we don't believe in a god, ergo NO religions are our "splinter groups"
@TheNewsOwl If prayer actually worked hospitals and cemeteries would be empty and no wars ever fought. Js
@TheNewsOwl π€ This one should make one think, Js.

@TheNewsOwl They've had literally 1,000's of years to realize prayers don't work. God or no god prayers don't work.
@timholt2007 He's right, you know! LOL
We would have had #Beto if the federal Voting Rights Act had passed. The extreme gerrymandering & voter suppression that went on in Texas should never be allowed to happen.
I have to admit, after 14 years in Texas, the Midterms drop-kicked me through the goal posts of life: my house is on the market, and will be moving to a BLUE STATE.
@disk4mat It is almost humorous but sadly too many theist would think this to be accurate vs just learning some science.
