#InTheLibrary -- or out of it! My volunteer Eryn got to attend the Shenandoah Archives Fair this week and talk about all of the work volunteers do at the #MarshallFoundationLibrary.

Playing my favorite song quite loudly in the library.

When I was a young military wife with a 3-month-old baby, I lived through the aftermath of a Cat 3 hurricane because we couldn't evacuate. It was horrible.
So many feelings during these hurricanes.

The world lost a great exemplar on Oct. 9, 1959.
There are many quotes that laud Gen. George C. Marshall, but the one I like best shows the humility of this leader-servant as he described the papers from his 50-year military and government career:
"I see little of historical interest involved, and have the impression that my actions were few, far between and relatively colorless."

It's from Apr. 1944, and begins "Memo for CoS [Chief of Staff] on King's memo." I see King, Pearl Harbor fleet, & Manila.
