But then I heard Kamala Harr isβ plea in her concession speech at Howard University. βThe important thing is don't ever give up,β she told her supporters. βDon't ever stop trying to make the world a better place. β¦ This is not a time to throw up our hands. This is a time to roll up our sleeves.β

Folks may perceive I am dismissing the heartbreak of the election outcome too readily.
I am not. I am deeply upset by events, the betrayal of the news media, the sale of our nation to a few billionaires. Iβm angry that countless people will suffer more losses of freedom and safety. Iβm scared.
So I am in a βboth/andβ mindset. This is horrible AND I am living the best I can right now. People I love are fading. I donβt want to miss today. I choose to live and love. No surrender.

@Minholkin
I am angry, and disappointed. I fear the future.
But.
I have the agency to choose my response, and I choose to support friends and family as they work through post-election feelings. I choose to be kind and look for opportunities to do good.
My revenge is not being eaten up by the ugliness of our leaders and improve my corner of the world.
Good morning, @Minholkin
Veterans Day for remembrance

Straight off the tree. Rather like a strawberry in consistency. Don't know of another fruit like it.
@singlemaltgirl
I have two fig trees.
They have little seeds like a strawberry, and are quite sweet. Once picked, they only keep a day, maybe two, which is why you won't see them in the store. If you live in growing area 7 or warmer, maybe a farmers market.

Changed my sister's life. She was 3.

All my love, prayers, good thoughts.
This continues to be a long haul for you; take care of yourself to stay strong.
@Beanc
Have friends over.
@EllyOnTheGo
It's been such a dry year in western VA. Measurable rain makes me unreasonably happy.
May your rain arrive soon.
I'm pondering a very important question, which all veterans should consider.
Was my oath to support & defend the Constitution merely part of an employment contract that expired when my active duty ended? Or is it more than that? Is my oath "null and void" simply because I'm no longer getting paid for active service? An oath is a solemn thing, not to be taken lightly.
The Constitution, and the rights it imparts to us as citizens, are in grave peril. I'm not being hyperbolic. The danger is real.
@Possum63
This oath is lifelong, I think. One that we all have but is codified for soldiers at enlistment.
@Minholkin
I always appreciate good intentions on my behalf; it means someone cares.
@tgraph52
Someone wants us to believe that's real ...
It will drive some away; I deeply respect the beliefs of others. Christmas music is my happy and I need all the happy right now.
