It all seems subjective; there is information that the Blue Ridge are 1.2 billion years. Some disagree with that.
Who knows? For sure none of us were there!
@MelissaHDavis the uwharri formed 500 million years ago. The appalachians formed 480 million years ago. The uwharri may have been caught up in the building of the appalachians but they were already there
