The short version: Russia sucks.
To think, I was taught my whole life to fear the Russian military, which seems to be run by buffoons, as far as I can tell.
I guess that's what oligarchy-slash-dictatorship masquerading as "communism" gets you.

@janallmac Yes. It's a very corrupt country made worse by Putin and his friends getting away with so much stuff. 80% of the young Russians I worked with in Moscow now live in places as diverse as Australia and Ireland.
