ON this date in 1787 - The first of the Federalist Papers were published in the New York Independent.

The series of 85 essays, written by Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay, were published under the pen name "Publius."

Fellow revolutionaries Bun Man and Mr. Purple (what else could they be?) were Virginians and while supporting the cause for a strong central government which was more than a confederation; they couldn't grow a fondness for that pompous Federalist Hamilton.

So, Bun set about calling Hamilton 'Pubes' which he thought was short for Publius, but apparently Alexander didn't think so...
