ON this date in 1660 - The books of John Milton were burned in London due to his attacks on King Charles II.

Bun Man and Mr. Purple, book editors for the New London Press, sat in horror.

Not because his works were burned, but because the SOBs didn't include 'Paradise Lost' which damned future high schoolers to years of tedious review of his boring work.

His wife thought him boring too...

BUT English teachers loved giving his assignments as they loved torture anyway.
