ON this date in 1965 - The Voting Rights Act was signed by U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson.

Democratic Senators Bun Man and Mr. Purple from the Great State of Delaware were on hand for the bill signing.

Bun remembers LBJ saying "This ensures democracy for America's future generations..."

Mr. Purple added "Yes, that is until we get Repubs putting restrictions back in place and SCOTUS giving the decision back to the States..."

Bun sighed, "So true, little buddy, so true...But democracy has to win out over oligarchs"
