“At the time, nobody who heard that quote (from the 1977 Nixon-Frost interviews) thought it made Nixon great Supreme Court material; they thought it made him a dangerously corrupt sociopath. When Trump’s lawyer argued the same concept before the Supreme Court, it sounded just as crazy. Now the Supreme Court agrees with them, and has all but written Nixon’s meme into the Constitution.
