ON this date in 1972 - Isaac Hayes won an Oscar for the Best Music, Original Song award for the song "Shaft".

Isaac actually stole the idea from Bun Man when he overheard Bun while he was sitting at a table at Club 54 in Manhattan.

Bun was talking to this hot chick when Isaac heard her say, “What’s that?” and Bun replied “Shaft, can ya dig it?”

The rest is history baby.
