SETTING CONDITIONS are circumstances that create an environment that sets the tone for certain behaviors to emerge.
They are anything that makes challenging behavior more or less likely to occur.
Setting conditions can be organizational culture, environment, personal, program-related, or relationships.
These conditions often serve to initiate and sustain inappropriate behaviors that are the focus of the functional assessment.
