ON this date in 1986 - Filippino President Ferdinand E. Marcos fled the Philippines after 20 years of rule after a tainted election.
Social commentators Bun Man and Mr. Purple were most interested in this outcome. Bun Man said, "What's the world coming to that a self-indulgent despot can't remain in power forever?"
