ON this date in 1988 - The U.S. Supreme Court overturned a $200,000 award to Rev. Jerry Falwell that had been won against "Hustler" magazine. Hustler staff members Bun Man and Mr. Purple who were responsible for rating the videos submitted for review gave the Supreme Court a 'full woodie' for this decision. The ruling expanded legal protections for parody and satire. The legal protections were extended to Congress also for their continued parody of a responsible legislative body.
