ON this date in 1958 - The first Flying V, by Gibson, was shipped from a factory in Kalamazoo, MI.
Shipped to local Axe man Bun Man, who along w/ Mr. Purple, was in the local primo garage band Super Heads in Time (S.H.I.T.); Bun Man loved this axe and played it till his fingers bled.

The darling of all those Hair Nation groups in the '80s, the Flying V became the go-to guitar for all those glitter bands until Bald Bobby and the Folic Few debuted as a triple-lead guitar (all Flying Vs) band in the late 80s...
Somehow, that head movement where you kick your head back to get your hair out of the way didn't work well when Bald Bobby and the Folic Few did it...
