ON this date in 1964 - The Administrator of General Services announced that the 24th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution had been ratified.
The amendment banned the poll tax.
Senators Bun Man and Mr. Purple wholeheartedly supported the measure.

In the press conference back in DE, Bun told the News Journal cub reporter "In this debate, I was reminded of my wild days as a youth and I felt that any time I could help a stripper control costs by not taxing her pole, well that was a good thing...
it just made economic sense."
