ON this date in 1994 - Jeff Gillooly pled guilty in Portland, OR, for his role in the attack on skater Nancy Kerrigan. Gillooly, Tonya Harding's ex-husband, struck a plea bargain under which he confessed to racketeering charges in exchange for testimony implicating Harding.

Boxing impresarios, Bun Man and Mr. Purple, seizing opportunity from tragedy, offered Tonya a spot on their fighting card.

What the Boyz didn't realize was the Kerrigan affair was Tonya's 15 minutes of fame, not boxing.
