ON this date in 1915 - The Coast Guard was created by an act of the U.S. Congress to fight contraband trade and aid distressed vessels at sea.

Intrepid seamen Bun Man and Mr. Purple said this was done because there were guys who didn't want to travel further than the littoral waters.
