Rained all day yesterday and I went for a long walk to test the new rain gear.
Saw this foam on several trees, hardwood and pine. Anybody know how it forms?
@BrentSullivan Looks like spit bug stuff but they're normally a summer phenomenon. 🤔

The water trickling down the trunk seemed to cause it. It was always at the base of the tree a and sometimes the water running down to the foam was bubbly too
