There's a Spanish concept that I have been thinking about a lot in relation to what comes next: pena ajena - the pain of watching someone else's deplorable, embarrassing, awful actions.

I know some folks want/need to see in prison, but I just don't want to hear about him anymore. Too much pena ajena. I don't want his name mentioned. I don't want more analysis of his politics. I would like him to vanish into the mist, as you describe, so his power is gone and we can move on.
