Still shaking off my world-grief today.

How are you doing, CoSo? What are you doing to bring a little light into your days?

@MLClark Frozen blueberries.

That is enough. 🫐🫐🫐

@MLClark πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ I’ll have the home made yogurt to mix in with the blueberries in case it is needed.

@ACG2

Okay, now you're just teasing. πŸ˜‹ But I will live vicariously through your joy! Thanks for sharing that you're "self-caring", ACG2! πŸ€—

@MLClark after seasoning, cook the Tyranid at 5000 degrees Celsius for a few seconds

@elmaxx

Do you have to rotate the Tyranid for best results? 😬 I don't want to lose that claw meat entirely!

@elmaxx

Genuine question:

What do you think is the tastiest sentient(ish) lifeform in 40k?

I'm imagining a lot of gristly, aged, weirdly chemical, and rotten meat in the universe, but there has to be *some* choice and succulent sentient if properly prepared. πŸ€”

@MLClark
corpse starch..... seems to be the choice of grub for many hive worlds

@MLClark well, there's agro planets which supply some (the nobility) population with all their nutrient needs, there's of course corpse starch which covers the rest of the population... also there's the combat rations, most Adeptus Astartes consume a highly concentrated triglyceride and nutrient paste... or if needed their fallen enemies.

And of course, pleasure planets which cater to the most diserning of tastes.

@MLClark other races like the Orks, they grow a variety of Squigs.

These creatures seem to be a catch all type.

For example, if you see an Ork with braids, its very likely it is a hairy Squig attached to their skull.

After some studies it's been determined that some engine powered Ork vehicles run on the freshly squized fluids of these Squigs.

The Ork also seems to enjoy a variety of Squig based recipes.

@elmaxx

Mmmm, I think we might need to go free-range, friend. (I bet @KunninGit would agree that some of the best meals are caught in the heat of battle! 😁)

@MLClark I'm not feeling great. Feeling lonely and dysphoric. I hope you're feeling better.

@Kaysymmetry

πŸ«‚ Bodies are weird. Having them at all was definitely not an optimal choice in the cosmic scheme of things.

Lonely also sucks. This is a I sometimes go back to, by Jeffrey McDaniel, when it's been a while and I miss my person something fierce.

Sending you a big ol' hug, too.
This ache matters, as do you. πŸ’œ

@MLClark yeah, the dysphoria thing is really tough. Especially since it will probably be years before something can be done.

@Kaysymmetry

Although your dysphoria is your own, a lot of people struggle with the idea that they'll only be able to love themselves "once X has happened" - whatever X might be.

We get so caught up on what we want from our bodies, we can't bring ourselves to love ourselves as we are now.

It tends to take daily practice at celebrating the weird mess of our bodies before the habit sticks.

You deserve to try to say one nice thing about your body every day, even if at first it's really hard. πŸ’œ
