Also, who's submitted to Grist's Imagine 2200 climate fiction contest with me this year? 👀
The submissions call goes live on March 28. Is that enough time to start writing a wee tale that features "creative climate solutions and community-centered resilience" and shows "what can happen as solutions take root" in the generations to come?
You darned tootin' it is. 💪
I think I might..
I was hoping you would!
I think I'm going to take a "mineral mining" futures approach: imagining the resistance movements needed a few decades out, to combat the next wave of extractionist economies already trying to replace petroleum through similarly brutal industry and government practices.
How about you? Any specific pathways to future action you'd like to explore? (And any specific geopolitical region you'd like to ground your story in? The committees always prefer a "lived in" tale.)
