Morning folks! 🌎
Today for OnlySky, I contrast three recent migrant crises in the news - in Canada, in the UK, and in Texas - to reflect on the economic and environmental factors that keep getting lost in the panic around rising immigration.
Immigration *is* a serious issue, which is why we cannot afford to let xenophobes and political stunts dominate the conversation. We need to grapple with our countries' underlying failure to invest in better societies all around.

What breaks my heart is that we're going to continue to see people credulously believe that it's "ethnic tensions" causing migrant strife, when if it weren't for resource scarcity amid rising climate change pressures, plenty of regions wouldn't see this escalation of "difference" between populations in the first place.
We can coexist splendidly when there's enough to go around - and there *is*, but it's being hoarded.
We have to remember what's really driving a wedge between us all.
@MLClark
yes, greed is exacerbating the situation, and obscene wealth has to be curbed and curtailed.
