Happy Friday, all.
We've been on tenterhooks for a while. Not just in the last few days, with sabre-rattling from Iran, Syria, Lebanon, India...
But before that, too. Remember the last year and a half of Russian invasion of Ukraine? The constant fears of further breakouts? Nuclear war? China?
Before then, pandemic.
And always, climate change.
We are living through a *lot*.
This is not an ideal "normal".
But it's ours.
So give yourself grace.
No one's going to be at their best right now. 🕊️
I read a piece in Vox last week that countered the idea that this is "same old, same old".
It's not that human behaviour has changed, but there are quantifiably more of us, undergoing more stressors than before.
The puddle shrinking in the sun is always convinced that it will survive whatever happens to it, because it's survived everything before... right until it's gone.
We won't all disappear... but it's going to get uglier. We need to be ferociously kind.

This is excellent. The image of the row of dominoes falling over will stay with me.
