@feloneouscat Lol why don't you, white man?
I just found out that Alexander Dumble was originally from Bakersfield.
I am originally from Bakersfield and did not know that.
I now see I am not the only one that noticed this apt comparison:
Why the ‘Brooks Brothers riot’ of 2000 inspired Trump’s campaign operative in 2020

@TheOtherLisa3
The fact that this election is even close and not a blow out against Trump tells me we've got a long way to go/ The Republican party has fully embraced corruption and rejected democratic elections.
How we got here:
This is the part where I remind the youngsters that in the year 2000, a conservative (Republican) lead Supreme Court halted a legal recount in which it appeared George W. Bush might have won by a few hundred voted In Florida, in an election where the ballots a Republican designed for many counties that were Democratic strongholds had irregularities (and probably miscast votes) giving us President George W. Bush before completing the recounts.
release the sausages!
All reading is good. I spent 4 months this year reading nothing but military sci-fi, and i didn't get any more stupid than I already was. In fact, I learned some new words even.
I just realized I was trying to type NA in your examples.
BTW
Sid Viscous would be a creepier name than Sid Vicious.
I thought so, but spell check gave me a red wavy line when I typed the i so I assumed I was wrong,
Yeah. The gun-in-face officer drug me out and made me lie face-down on hot asphalt.
That was nice.
The moral of this story is...
They send cops to classes to teach them how to deescalate interactions, and then they send 'em to other classes telling them they need to dominate and establish authority, so the deescalate stuff doesn't stick.
That... and get them hopped up on adrenaline because they're afraid, you're in a world of hurt.
Learn to deescalate as a citizen. Do not become belligerent. Be helpful, soothing... like you're are dealing with a potentially viscous dog.
About the worst thing I ever said to a police officer was "OK, my registration is in the glove compartment, and I am going to reach for it slowly now, ok?"
To which the officer said, "Why are you acting so paranoid"
And I replied, "Because the last officer who also pulled me over because my car fit the description of a car used in a robbery pulled out his gun and stuck it in my face when I reached for the glove compartment, and I don't want to get shot in the face".
@AskTheDevil I may not be the smartest guy on the planet, but even I know that you don't yell, scream, use profanity and tell the guys with the handcuffs and guns what to do and call them names.
Ultimately all computers can be hacked if you have access to them,
That's why access to the machines is tightly controlled and why Tina Peters is going to prison for shutting down cameras, providing passwords, and allowing Lauren Boebert's campaign manager to access them unsupervised.
IT automaton, retired from hacking, I just move data, build systems, and do full stack devops stuff now
