Today lets talk about guitars you want 2 play... and "investment" guitars.

If you've been playing a while, chances are with the whole internet things and the trend in guitars, some of your guitars have miraculously turned into "investment" guitars.

The result: now you worry about playing them and degrading their value, so you stop playing them and play your other guitars.

Never. A guitar is a creative tool. It’s meant to be used. I would never “invest” just to put it away in a “bank”. That is one way to keep a good acoustic guitar from achieving its sonic peak!

@sonnybillglover Before the internet, that's how things worked.

You could pick up old strats and les pauls at pawn shops for 500 bucks.

not anymore. And when you find you the thing you've playing could be a good down payment on a house--a 62 strat in vg condition can go for $200,000--best to put that one away and get a nice custom one built to replace it.

@Lulz4l1f3 yah. Know what you mean. It’s pretty sick (not good!)

@sonnybillglover
It makes me sad because you can't pick up nice finds in pawn shops anymore, and...

I think I should have bought way more guitars in the 1980s lol
