@Agatha Yeah I had moments in my 20s that today I can get by with calling them senior moments. I have yet to meet a single perfect person.
My friendβs grandfather used to feign Dementia to keep his wife off his back. It was hilarious.
elders, that is, old people with wisdom of experience, used to be revered.
it's a very unwise cultural prejudice to equate advanced age with uselessness. experience ignored is failure repeated by subsequent generations.
@holon42 Capitalism would prefer we dispose of things and buy new. Somehow its carried over into people and not just things.
Even things we should Reuse, then repurpose before we consider recycling.
People We start off learners, become doers, hopefully to become teachers/leaders.

I've been around long enough to have known about him since the late '80s. Yeah, he's slowed down a bit, and also, yeah, his "gafs" aren't anything new. Hell, I have a lifetime worth of "gafs" my brain tortures me with on a nightly basis. Thankfully I don't have cameras following me.
