Always wondered how Grassley's about filling in for Pence then Pence showed up anyway, fit in to the Jan 6th fun. Pence has a son who is a Marine. They Spoke that day and Pence said he was not overseeing the votes. His son told him that They had both taken the same oath and he was honor bound to do his job. So all the Credit Pence took for growing a spine and saving the country was not quite the case and it was a Marine pushing him to do the right thing that saved the day. #politics
Grassley *was* really confident that Pence wouldn't be available to preside. I've often wondered what he knew - more importantly, what Pence knew.
