Today I pre stocked for not being able to smoke the week after my neck surgery. Preparation is key. 
Did they tell you to quit prior to the surgery, as well? Or just inform them that you medicate & the dosage?
I hadn't heard of issues post surgery with cannabis, esp considering cbd is recommended for post-op pain, but it can screw with the anesthesia beforehand.
