@deadweirdo Agreed. But, imagine the "deterrence factor" wasn't there, either... Guns are actually easy to spot on the scanner (part of the testing in the application process is a simulation of using the scanner).
Hand searching each carry-on would be labor intensive... But, scanning and hand searching really should be the way it's done.

🥳 NASA has successfully launched SWOT, the Surface Water and Ocean Topography #RemoteSensing #water resources satellite. The high resolution Ka-band radar/orbit will precisely track sea level rise, streamflow through mountainous terrain, and shifts in reservoir storage.
Observations from SWOT can be used to better understand ocean currents and processes happening at spatial scales on the order of 15-150 km, something that has not been done before.
