@GlytchMeister @TheNewsOwl Oops! I did mention the peaches. I think Iโ€™m extra upset about that because my bakery makes peach pie and peach cobbler, and Georgia peaches used to be the best.

@GlytchMeister @TheNewsOwl I think all the droughts in the midwest will make it more like a desert, but I donโ€™t know for sure.

Now would be a great time to buy land in southern Canada to farm!! Georgia peaches are already a thing of the past. Theyโ€™re trying to grow new strains of peaches, but itโ€™s not going well.

The gulf coast will be under water sooner than we think. Itโ€™s such a shame. None of this had to happen.

@TheNewsOwl Iโ€™ve thought for a long time that where crops grow will shift dramatically if we didnโ€™t stop global warming, which we refused to do. So, here we are. There wonโ€™t be any peaches from Georgia in grocery stores this year because of global warming (I heard that on NPR just last night). It has begun. We were warned.

@ceorl @Alfred It would all depend on which side of the boat they fell off of. The most important thing is for the person at the helm to keep their eye on the crew member all the times. You can jibe or tack, but you canโ€™t take your eye off them or run them over. Also, throw the horseshoe life preserver thing right behind you to them before you do anything else. The wind could be doing one thing while the current does another. Itโ€™s a quick judgement call, but keep your eyes one them.

@cjtownsend OMG, the rain was brutal!!! The wind was a tropical storm!! Despite this, Iโ€™m happy to report that we (my aunt who lives here helped me) sold most of what we brought!!

โ€œAll gave some, some gave all.โ€ Today, letโ€™s remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

@Ironworker229 Yes, thank you so much!!! I passed out when the work was done. Driving through the night to get there before the storm paid off. If I had been any later I wouldnโ€™t have been able to get anything to the market until Tuesday. It would have been a disaster. Weโ€™ll be delivering every two weeks until the season is over.

I made it to Bald Head Island yesterday morning (I drove through the night after baking all day) with 18 pies and 34 cakes. Iโ€™m TIRED, but Iโ€™m dragging myself back to the market to do the sales thing today. Pictures forthcoming.

@Klaatu_Veratta_Nectarine Yup. Between the pathogens and methane clouds trapped in the permafrost, weโ€™re really screwed.

Of course, our big opening weekend of the year at the grocery store on Bald Head is plagued by gale force winds. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Iโ€™ll have to leave at 2am to try to get there in time for the first barge, in the hopes I miss the worst of the winds. Mom and I have been baking like crazy, and I spent every penny I have to buy all the stuff we needed to fill this big order.

@LnzyHou How long, and what, does it take to get rid of this swelling that happens when I bake for hours? I tried yoga and swimming, and I got stabbing nerve pain in my foot, which might be my back. I hobbled around on messed hips so long I screwed up my back. ๐Ÿ™„
