I signed up for online culinary school (Escoffier), and I got a part time job, as a baker, to supplement my income (my bakery isn’t making a profit yet). I did these things to take my bakery to next levels, and to have less financial stress. My family thinks I’ve completely lost any sanity I had left, but I believe in what I’m doing. I still have a bakery to run and bake for, but thankfully Mom, my business partner, bakes too. Thank you for listening!
@MisterE Thank you so much!! This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, which says a lot coming from me.
@LindaGoodliffe Well, keep rollin'! You'll do fine.
@LindaGoodliffe it’s really cool, good luck with that! I really wanted to go to Las Vegas and take classes from Amaury Gichon in chocolate. The man is a master! I just didn’t have the spare $15,000 plus room and board for 10 weeks.
@FreyaMeansLady OMG, he’s such a genius!!! I’m taking out student loans to do this, but as student loans go, it’s not so bad. I’ll make it worth it. I’ve almost done this so many times over the years, and now Escoffier has this great online program (I don’t have time to adhere to someone else’s schedule anymore), so I decided to go for it. Plus, it’s all done in 15 months, rather than the usual 2 years. Anyway, if you can find a way, go for it!!! Working with chocolate is one of my weaknesses.
@LindaGoodliffe Good luck! I'm a son of a baker, and know it isn't easy to do what you're doing.
