What we're seeing first with Telegram and now Twitter in Brazil is that, increasingly, governments are beginning to turn their attention to the damage unmoderated social media does to political ecospheres. You cannot have a stable commonwealth if large portions of their populations are lost in mis- and disinformation. And yes, democratic governments have every right to stop the spread of disinformation which roils their societies, as we saw two weeks ago in England and Northern Ireland.
@GreenLady08 No, he had nothing to do with the banning. This was from a Supreme Court judge. But there's broad agreement in the country over this move.
