That was just a beautiful run.
@RationalLeft fortunately no. It's 35 minutes via intercity rail from Luton to London. But there ARE regularly scheduled flights to Cuba.
@LiberalLibrarian My experiences with the British rail system were... not inspiring.
@RationalLeft Rail in Spain was simply lovely.
@LiberalLibrarian We became convinced that all transportation problems on Earth can be traced to a signals failure in the Earl's Court area.
@RationalLeft Yeah, right. As if Earl's Court had working railway signals. @LiberalLibrarian
It's a one hour journey from Luton to Stamford Bridge, where the match is being played. I wonder if the train arrived on time.
@LiberalLibrarian I once had the pleasure of planning a 2-hour rail journey. To be on time, I aimed to arrive three hours earlier. I was an hour late. The audience was forgiving as they knew I came by rail.
The way back was equally disastrous. They had to reimburse me for the ticket. @RationalLeft
@ToruOkada @RationalLeft When I worked downtown, I would take our rail system into work. I can't adumbrate the number of times I was delayed by mechanical issues. I switched back to driving.
@ToruOkada @LiberalLibrarian It seemed to be the go-to excuse for problems on the Tube.
@LiberalLibrarian But did fans have to hijack a plane to Luton?
