What I've learned from Facebook and interacting with those with whom I grew up is this: Thomas Wolfe was right. You can never go home again.

@Museek The only reason I keep FB is for Messenger. Otherwise I'd disconnect.

@LiberalLibrarian

The last time I was living here in Albaturkey, my 20th high school reunion came around and I decided to go. Boy was that fun. Or not.

@see_the_sus I and my BFF went to our 10th anniversary in 1997.

We swore: Never again with that crap.

@LiberalLibrarian

I was soooo bored and annoyed. All of a sudden I had all these classmates coming up to me and telling me how they liked me and blah blah. I had to hold my tongue from asking them why then they treated me like shit way back when.
The main reason I went was to see one friend in particular who I had lost contact with. I soon realized she had turned conservative and was a bitch.

@LiberalLibrarian My limited contact with one-time childhood friends would tend to back that up.

@RationalLeft So many of my Catholic school friends have become evangelicals. Ugh.

@LiberalLibrarian I've had contact with a few friends from childhood. None went well.
