@corlin Oh, that's very good to hear. Not the best food, but much better than dumpster diving.
@corlin @LiberalLibrarian I have had a series of friends work at 7/11 circleK and am/pm they all have given away everything at the end of the night!
@Tattoomonkey29 @corlin @LiberalLibrarian That's very decent of them. I wonder how common this is?
@Ironworker229 @Tattoomonkey29 @LiberalLibrarian
As far as I know it it widespread.
They donβt advertise it. But talk to any unhoused person and they will tell you which stores, and when.
@corlin @Tattoomonkey29 @LiberalLibrarian Oughtta be SOP for all.
@Ironworker229 @corlin @LiberalLibrarian β€οΈ It really ought to ,just like grocery stores ought to not be allowed to throw away unsold food!
@Ironworker229 @corlin @LiberalLibrarian it's pretty common here in Shasta County., I think minimum wage earners on a late shift tend to recognize how close we all are and maybe don't know every homeless person directly but recognize many from school or earlier jobs etc..
@LiberalLibrarian π β€οΈ My daughter got chased away from a health food store I have shopped at for years yesterday when I told her I had shopping to do and I don't think I'll be going there again because I thought they were better than that!

Humanitarians rock the kasbah.
Fucking governments that let people sleep in the street and eat what ever they can find ( no fucking way to put, out of the trash, delicately)
Deserve zero love but a whole hell of a lot of scrutiny and accountability. People came down heavy on the art dude in SF, as well they should, he's a prick. However, he is the opposite side of the coin these warm human beings are on. A broken, greedy, corrupt system is what is at the heart of it.
It blows my mind that the people who can fix it, LITERALLY in a matter of days, are the same mutherfuckers who have fancy dinner parties, yada yada yada, while they bitch about poor people who they are purposely keeping impoverished. They don't want to fix it. They just don't want to see the reality of their fine work, not from this side of their inaction, policies, graft, greed, corruption. They like the view from chauffeured cars, panoramic views from penthouses.
@LiberalLibrarian
Ya know those 7 Eleven stores that have hotdogs rotating all day long. The managers have to throw them away after 8 hours.... so most workers will give them away to anyone who asks. It became so well known, that now it is company policy.
