I don't know, but I had some here last year and I thought the same. We've lived here for 8 years and for a month or so, I would keep hearing and finding them. It was weird. I sympathize fully.

True story: After reading "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", I would regularly go into the closet to see if I could get to Narnia. I remember being sad every time I came back with nothing.
