The random number generator says the project of the day is #ChristmasCryptid, which is good, because it's due to my editor by 28-June and it's missing the last few chapters. I almost never write the last 1/4 of the book in the first draft.

Writing is a really bad career choice for a brain that likes to have work that can be chunked up into nice, even bits. My other career fields were newspaper and research science. Neither of which work well with my brain type.

If I could make myself like accounting, I'd probably be great at it.

Half my problem is that I know I have a time limit, so I don't want to pull out any of my Big Projects because I don't want to stop in the middle of something.

This is not a useful set of thoughts or fears, but it is an existent one. Welcome to ADHD and broken brains.

One of the hardest parts of writing romance isn't the smexy scenes, it's building the emotional relationship well enough that the reader believes the couple can last. Lots of books have sex and aren't Romance.

My BFF: I've lived in the same town my entire life except for 18 months when I lived three hours away and visited only on weekends.

My writing brain is fried. I need to write. I have deadlines and need to finish books. But my brain is bouncing around doing everything but writing and I don't know how to fix this.

Well, I don't know how to fix it quickly.

The slow fix is taking time to refill the creative well.
