I'm not bribing my kids to make them do chores. I'm ensuring they understand they should be fairly compensated for their time and labor by paying them in Pokemon cards. There's a difference.




@LianaBrooks My parents paid me an allowance with amounts assigned to chores. Peers' parents were apalled! But I already had money management skills fresh out of high school that it took them years to catch up to.

@weirdfizz We have some chores that are just Families Help Each Other chores, but once the kid is 14 they have a bank card and monthly money they can use to learn to shop and budget. If they want to save up for something, they can.
