@J4BB3RW0CK I'm in SF. Through resisters on social media, I have come to realize blue voters everywhere share very similar values, more so than people in the same red/blue states. Blue dots in red states have a harder fight and more to lose. I wish more people in big blue area appreciate that when they scoff at 'centrist' democrats.
@LadyIDO And for a little background, i recently moved to St Louis city from a semi-ruralish, very conservative area in which we lived for a couple decades about an hour outside the city. It used to be somewhat right of center, but in the past few years grew a bit more extreme to where we no longer felt part of the community. There were several apathetic dems, even some progressives including us. But we felt more isolated. So when we had the opportunity, we moved
@J4BB3RW0CK I am for democracy first. Without democracy, there is no place to discuss left/right positions. Some 'progressives' are chaos agents in disguise. I have encountered those. Even in SF, I know 'progressives' who didn't vote. Just galls me to no end.
@LadyIDO Unfortunately, centrist Dems in MO are losing out. They’ve tried to appeal to both sides (see McCaskill), but the extreme R messaging, especially nationally, isn’t facing any opposition by centrist Rs and is drowning out everything else. Somehow, Ds gained a few seats in state leg, so getting closer to not being an R supermajority here (which we’ve had for over a decade now), so maybe there’s some hope for balance at some point in the future 🤷🏻♂️
