@Bliss yeah, she expected to get away with it is what I figured. Forgetting how fact checking works.
No serious ghost writer would add that to embellish more.

But you'd think that she would have proofed it and been like, wait a second, I didn't do that.

imho she put that in there thinking she could lie like trump and not get trump. Macron called her out for her lie about him and the US press caught her on the rest.
