I think this is a good thing to eliminate non-competes. When I was in highschool, I worked at Laser Quest and they made me sign a non-compete so I couldn't work at any other laser tag/arcade place for 3 years after leaving LQ. I signed it but considered it a joke because I knew I was under 18 and they couldn't enforce it on me anyway. But even back in the 90's they were doing these to that stupid of an extent.

@Kurtroedeger Yep. I don't know how many companies tried to pull that shit on me when I worked in IT, especially.

They'd try to get people to sign agreements that they would not work as _computer programmers_ for any other company for years.

I'm like "You're not going to employ me until I retire, but you want me to not be able to work at all if you fire me? Go fuck yourselves."

And yes, I have been hired after telling them to fuck themselves over a noncompete. They knew it was BS, too.
