I’ve been watching Traveling Robert’s YouTube videos for a few years now, and would like to recommend his channel to all who enjoy relaxing travel videos.

Well filmed and produced, with original music by Robert Morales himself.

Robert travels with his RV mostly in the US. I’ve really enjoyed armchair travelling with him across the US and occasionally elsewhere.

Check it out!
(I’m not affiliated in any way. I just enjoy his videos.)

I asked to describe social media in the style and tone of Marvin, the paranoid android from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

It nailed it.

I only recently discovered the and have been immersing myself in their world for a few weeks now.

I'm pretty much running out of superlatives at this point. I can't remember when I enjoyed a game (games) this much!

I'm playing nonlethally (not killing NPCs) and trying not to be seen or get discovered, like in the brilliant Thief games back in the day.

And as a bonus, Stephen Russell, who voiced Garrett in Thief, voices Corvo Attano in Dishonored 2. 😎

No one does work like this any more - classic Tom & Jerry from Fred Quimby, Gene Leitch, and Chuck Jones. Each man left his own indelible mark on the series over the years. They were the best of T&J.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a good, frozen pizza. Or even a decent one, really.

I used to be a big fan of the Thief games (Thief: The Dark Project, Thief II: The Metal Age, etc). I still remember them fondly and occasionally play Fan Missions.

Recently, the Epic Store had Arkane Studios' "Dishonored" as a freebie. I remember many Thief fans regarded it very highly, but somehow I never got to try it.

Now I did, and it's an excellent game! A natural home for a taffer. Had a blast stealthing my way through it!

It was delicious, even if I say so myself! Elk casserole roughly in the style of Beef Bourguignon.

Roughly.

I just discovered that you can ask how to do various tasks/things in , and it explains to you step-by-step how you can do them.

Another great use case for chatGPT!

Tomorrow’s dinner will be a hearty elk casserole in the style of Beef Bourguignon.

Served with tagliatelle.

Naturally, copious amounts of wine will be involved; both as a key ingredient, and as libation.

Apparently, I don't know how to embed photos from Flickr. So I'll repost it here.

Back to our "summer" house in the for a long weekend.

I love it here -- the solitude. Close to nature. The archipelago sea. And a lifestyle that harkens back to days that are gone.

I just watched Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

It was fine. I like Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc, but there's next to nothing that builds up his character. I'd like to learn more about who he is, like with Hercule Poirot, and others of his ilk.

The movie has too many contemporary references, especially in the establishing scenes. I doubt those remain relevant, if even relatable, in 20 years' time.

I'd like to see more of Benoit Blanc, but with better screenplays.

Last work day tomorrow before the holidays. Looking forward to a few days of rest. It has been fairly stressful and busy.

I've spent some time today chatting with .

It's been astonishing.

I've asked for recipes for air fryer snacks, talked about JSON vs XML, the pros and cons of both, smart home network configurations, the history of the Finnhorse, suggestions for a weekend trip to Stockholm, the Hard Problem of consciousness, the colour red, how ChatGPT experiences it, VIC-20 adventure game Pirate Cove, and world governments' hypothetical responses to discovering an advanced civilization in our galaxy.

I had high hopes for Jodie Whittaker's Doctor Who, but it turned out terrible. It felt so different from what came before. Preachy, no sense of wonder. Like it was a different show entirely. Maybe it got better later, but I gave up on it.

Fingers crossed for Ncuti Gatwa. I hope the writers give him good material to work with!

I just started watching Doctor Who from the beginning of Christopher Eccleston's 9th Doctor episodes, and it just reminded me how great the series once was!

The birdyplace has turned into a surreal playground of narcissism, petty egotism, and downright tyranny of the elongated muskrat because the drug-addled megalomaniac hasn't got a clue how to deal with human beings and social systems.

He's really the worst.

Spent four hours removing snow off the roof. 60 cm of the bastard all over our annoyingly large roof (when you have to do this crap).

I'm feeling it today, let me tell ya.

But we came to our "summer" house for the weekend. The sauna is all warmed up. Going to warm up my aching muscles.

An adult beverage or a few will be involved this evening, as well.

Oh, how I hate the winter. It’s only mid December and we already have half a meter of snow. It’s ridiculous! What will it be in March, ffs.
