Throughout my life I have heard people say they can't take it anymore and are moving out of the US. I never had that feeling until Trump was elected. But moving to another country is not easy and it takes money. And what kind of reception would I get as an American if I moved to Europe let's say. And is it even necessary to move out of the US if you are lucky enough to live in a blue state. I always knew there was no place like the Big Apple and these days I miss NY more than ever
@KathyV I hope that is never the answer. I can understand having to move to a blue state, or to a blue area of a red state, but giving up and leaving is one less voice crying out for democracy.
I've always wondered if we could build a retirement community in, say, one of the Dakotas that would be subsidized by deep pocket liberals for Democrats. I'm pretty sure we could take over these low population areas...
@TrueBloodNet I live in a very blue part of Florida. It helps some but not as much as one might think.
@KathyV I can understand that.. however, being red isn't Florida's only demographic issue. It's older than other states and it's Hispanic population is more likely to be from Cuba and authoritarian.
@TrueBloodNet That's a good point and what many GOP older Floridians don't get is that our state relies on social security more than most states, particularly with the high rent costs in FL. And right now the GOP is refusing to pass a clean debt ceiling bill risking default and social security. These are scary times.
@TrueBloodNet True, climate is a big deal here. Even DeSantis knows this yet he pretends like Disney is his major concern.
