Anybody here doing ? I plan on watching "Oppenheimer" either Saturday or Sunday, but I'll give "Barbie" a miss.
I really liked "Fat Man and Little Boy", especially the way Paul Newman portrayed Gen. Grove.

I did indeed go to see last night. I think it's worthwhile. I mentioned Gen. Groves previously. He's portrayed by Matt Damon in this one, and comes across well. The main problem with this film is, when someone compresses 13 years of history into a 3-hour film, some hard choices have to be made about what gets included. I say they could have spent much less time on the security clearance issue.

@KamloopsBob All good points. I liked the use of clearance and subsequent congressional hearing as a way to frame the story, allow a good bit of narration, and add drama that isn’t all rah-rah science. To me it was good storytelling that added an important arc; politics end up dictating everything about how we use science and scientists.
