500 characters is not many but I guess it has been working like this for many people for years. Any advice on what sites offer more space for more in-depth conversations and sharing of ideas? (I posted earlier with a typo on the number which missed the point.)

The US voting system is broken. Get rid of the electoral college. Federal laws need to override state voting laws but that is scary too. (Unless we can really trust the Fed Gov't. to do the right thing. We know we cannot trust state Gov'ts to play fair.
