@KGinKS: It's the usual. Historically, the Dems have been their own worst enemies since the 1960s, perhaps even the mid- to late 1950s.
Like good little Nazi's? Completely true, democrats would do better if they united behind a specific candidate/message. Damn individualism! 🤣🤣🤣
@KGinKS @Razdawg22: The loss of many formerly "mainstream" Republicans in the US was more than offset by the picking up of former non-voters who were/are bigots, open or closet fascists, and/or anti-state.
I think of it like buying a house. If you find a house where you want to live, that costs what you are able to pay and meets 80% of your wish list, make an offer. Hold out for perfection and you look at listings forever without buying.
@KGinKS @Razdawg22: Individualism? No, far from it. Usually they fall apart from infighting and sniping over "ideological purity" disagreements, over who's hardcore/serious/true-blue enough versus one another and everyone else. The same thing happened with the Democrats.
The genuine fascists won over the GOP in the late-200s, with loads of assistance from the Soviets, Chinese, Iran, the Murdoch and related media fascists, Lost Cause adherents in the US, tech bro billionaires, and Evangelicals.
