The article says you need a 2/3 vote to expel.

Maybe that's why McCarthy defied Gaetz. He thinks the ethics committee has the goods.

Which begs the question, If you are expelled from Congress for criminal activity does that lesson or improve your political standing in the view of the voters?

@KGinKS In Florida ... probably yes.

I mentioned upstream that, during his first Senate run, Rubio was on the ropes due to a credit card scandal. He was living high on the hog off his Florida GOP credit card. But the state GOP circled the wagons rather than expose his corruption.

I'm surprised the credit card scandal doesn't come up.
