Two evenings ago with my pup Eddie wearing his lighted collar and low clouds over Bergen.

(Dog walk report 1/16) Cosmo wants you to know: It is cold with a breeze. Thank dog for his Snuggler coat. There were very interesting pmails, that required intense returned messages and curly shuffles. There was a giant doe standing by our driveway. She scampered away when he lunged towards her. There were some noises coming from the woods, maybe a fox. An active escapade.

This kitty is so sweet.

If you follow me, then you might know the story: I was leaving a grocery store parking lot with a Starbucks coffee in hand when I saw this kitten darting around & under cars. I re-parked my car and went looking for it. I saw it emerge from under an SUV, so I squatted down & called to it. She ran to me, hopped up on my lap & started purring.

That was 2 1/2 months ago.

(one day late)

I just learned that my mother is expected to pass in the next day or so. 😢

Nobody reached out to let me know. I discovered this by contacting somebody about the flooding in CA, and they asked me about her situation, of which I knew nothing at the time.

It is very hard to have family like this. I contacted my sister, who holds power of attorney and she said there will be no services. No reason for me to go down there and visit.

Not surprising, but still hurts.

a gargoyle on the donjon of the château de Pierrefonds.

NOTE: this is a true 'gargoyle,' i.e. a carved stone rain-spout. some of the most famous sculptures on the exterior of [say] the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris, are more correctly called 'chimères'; those do not [and cannot] serve as water-drain spouts.

Outdoor Cats Are Using $500 Starlink Satellite Dishes as Self-Heating Beds
The devices—developed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX—have a warming feature to prevent snow buildup from disrupting the signal

For me, it's the Golden Girls. They could do it, too. 😂
