My son would have been 40 years old today. He was proud to be born on Martin Luther King day. He was a DJ and music nut. He passed from cancer in 2014. Pictured here with Big Eyes Willie Smith and Pine Top Perkins (97 years old here and playing music, last show). Now also both gone historic Blues Artists. I miss the concerts with my son.

No, I don't think I will identify the Nepenthes sp I bought simply labeled, "carnivorous plant". I have never owned this species, have no idea what it is, and I am absolutely in love with the sense of mystery, of watching something grow with zero idea of what's about to happen. It has a spring there that bubbles up clear spring Soda water. Hence the name of the town “Soda Springs” (Naturally carbonated water)
Locals fill jugs and make there own soda with flavors.
