People on Twitter used to understand that you get what you put in. With the maturation of social media, that truth has been lost, and so most people are just posting crap.

With so many people on Twitter, it has been possible for a while to take advantage of it as a broadcast medium without adding anything of value. Effectively, the ease of this was turning Twitter into a garbage pail.

With something like CounterSocial, you have to ask yourself the question I and many others asked themselves when we joined Twitter more than a decade ago: “How can I add value to the site so that I’ll get better follows and interaction?”

@robfwtx I joined some FB groups that were supposed to be great for research, but it was a complete waste of time. I don’t have the energy to figure out how to leverage Mastodon for research, only to discover it was also a waste of time.

I looked at Mastodon, but its decentralized approach would appear to put people into silos based upon their declared interests or political views. That’s just not for me. This also rules Tribel out. CounterSocial may be small and have growing pains, but has more potential.

I don’t know who’s going to win this game, but Henry is on pace for three hundred yards.

By the rate things are going, in a year Musk will be at a landfill, sifting through the garbage looking for the missing thumb drive that contains his entire wealth.

I'm not upset at all about Kathy Griffin being permanently suspended from the bird site. She is an unfunny, shrill far-left former twit whom I had to block after she sicked a troll army on me. She should have been banned years ago for advocating political violence.

The truth is, on the grassroots level the strongest anti-abortion advocates I have ever known have all been women. Most men aren't all that fired up about the issue, but are following their wife's lead. Whether male political and religious leaders are taking advantage of the issue to gain votes and money is another matter entirely.

As on the bird site, if you post Handmaid's Tale memes you will be unfollowed and muted. If you really think red states are that bad, you should try living in a place like Afghanistan.
